CHERRY TREE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he fatally shot his neighbor after an argument escalated.

Troopers from the Indiana, Pennsylvania barracks say 27-year-old James Lantz shot 23-year-old Derrick Davis after an argument on the front lawn of one of their homes. Police say Davis may have been involved in an altercation with a female friend before he and Lantz started arguing.

The incident occurred in Green Township about 70 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.

Lantz remained in the Indiana County jail on Monday on a charge of criminal homicide. Online court records don’t list an attorney for Lantz, who faces a preliminary hearing June 29.
