SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Southern California authorities say a parolee suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend was wearing an ankle tracking device at the time of his arrest.

Police say 42-year-old Julio Serrano was arrested Sunday after he told his brother that he had harmed his girlfriend.

Serrano’s brother called police, who found the body of 45-year-old Martha Garcia inside a trailer parked behind a home in San Bernardino.



Serrano could face a murder charge. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.

KABC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2nsQ30U ) he was on parole for burglary and numerous prior arrests, and was wearing a tracking device when officers took him into custody.
