ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - A 20-year-old Essex County man will spend up to 10 years in state prison for causing the death of one woman in a crash during a speed contest and the rape of two teenage girls.
The Plattsburgh Press-Republican reports (https://bit.ly/1nRzPVq ) that Elizabethtown resident Keith Denton was sentenced Thursday on his guilty pleas to criminally negligent homicide, second-degree rape and sexual misconduct.
Denton admitted he was speeding in Elizabethtown the night of June 23, 2012, when he lost control and crashed his 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier. A passenger, 17-year-old Nicole Baker of Standish, was killed.
The sex charges against Denton were for having sex with underage girls on two occasions.
