SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 20-year-old Salt Lake City man has pleaded guilty to murder in a robbery-slaying that authorities say netted a package of marijuana and about $500 in cash.

Landon Kavani Johnson is facing a possible 15 years to life in state prison after admitting Monday he shot and killed 18-year-old Eric Padilla in an apartment last September.

Sentencing is scheduled May 22.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2ocXFTK ) that robbery, burglary and obstructing justice charges against were dismissed under Johnson’s pretrial plea agreement.

A witness reported that he recognized Johnson because a bandanna kept falling off Johnson’s face while he wielded a silver handgun.

Police say Johnson was also seen on apartment complex surveillance video.
