DUNBAR, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities say a woman who tried to flee from police after running an officer off the road had texted her boyfriend saying she was drunk.
WCHS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2iABL9c) court documents show 23-year-old Mikayla J. Miller of Cross Lanes was charged Monday with felony fleeing DUI.
Dunbar police Lt. W. Moss says he was driving when a truck driven by Miller crossed over into his lane, forcing him off the road.
Moss says he Miller sped away from him, but he later caught up with her and arrested her. Police say Miller smelled of alcohol.
Miller told police she cross the center line because she was texting her boyfriend.
She also told officers she attempted to get away and hide from police.
