LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln man has been sentenced to prison for stealing from an 82-year-old woman who’d let him move into her basement.

Online court records say 56-year-old Neal Manning on Wednesday was given four to six years and credited for 233 days already served. He’d pleaded no contest to a theft charge.

Police say Manning admitted taking a debit card from the woman’s purse without her permission. Police say he used it to make nearly 80 purchases for a total of more than $8,700.
