SHOW LOW, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on the fatal shooting of a Show Low police officer and the search for the suspected shooter (all times local):
9 p.m.
Authorities say there’s a standoff situation with the suspect linked to the fatal shooting of a Show Low police officer.
Police say Officer Darrin Reed was shot Tuesday afternoon outside a fast-food restaurant and later died from his injuries at a hospital.
The suspected shooter has been identified as 36-year-old Daniel Erickson of Huachuca City.
He fled a Show Low hotel near the scene of the shooting in a vehicle and was dressed in a black leather trench coat and reportedly armed with a silver handgun.
Police say negotiations with Erickson are in progress Tuesday night in the Pinetop-Lakeside area of east-central Arizona and Highway 260 is closed at this time.

A Show Low police officer has died after being shot outside a fast-food restaurant in the city and the suspect remains at large.
Show Low police say Darrin Reed was taken to a hospital after Tuesday afternoon’s shooting and later died from his injuries.
Authorities say Reed was shot about 1:30 p.m. and the motive for the shooting isn’t immediately clear
Police have identified the suspect as 36-year-old Daniel Erickson and say he was seen leaving a Show Low hotel in a vehicle.
They say Erickson was dressed in a long, dark trench coat and reportedly armed with a handgun.
Police say the car Erickson drove from the scene was found Tuesday evening and he’s believed to be driving another vehicle.
Show Low is in Navajo County in east-central Arizona.
