America’s most prominent tech titans were on the guest list for the lavish state dinner at the White House Thursday night to honor Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The guest list includes some of the biggest U.S. tech executives, including Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Tesla’s Elon Musk, Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Apple Chairman Tim Cook, Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, who run OpenAI, Michael Dell of Dell Computers, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Others on the guest list include a litany of Fox News television hosts, including Bret Baier, Laura Ingraham, and Jesse Watters.
Administration officials attending the dinner include Vice President J.D. Vance and second lady Usha Vance; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Other notable guests included Jane Fraser, head of Citigroup, New York University President Linda Mills, and Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon.
The guest list was short on star power, lacking the names of famous athletes, actors and musicians who traditionally attend state dinners.
The only such celebrity to make the list was actress Cheryl Hines, who is attending with her husband, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The tech guests were expected given that Mr. Trump and Mr. Xi discussed their interest in cooperating on artificial intelligence to benefit both countries. Mr. Xi also announced that China would work to offer more direct flights to the U.S. to encourage business investment.
