STUART, Fla. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing his ex-wife earlier this year and dumping her dismembered body in a central Florida state park.

Local media reports that Steven Williams was sentenced Friday. He pleaded no contest in May to second-degree murder. Williams received an additional five years for child neglect, because he left the couple’s 2-year-old daughter alone to dump Tricia Todd’s body.

The sheriff’s office reports that Tricia Todd disappeared in April, and Williams, an Air Force airman, was arrested a short time later in North Carolina. He eventually confessed and led authorities to her remains in Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area. Authorities say Williams had buried Todd’s body parts in a tub of acid.
