SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Scottsdale said that a gathering of co-workers “engaging in reckless behavior” at an electronic cigarette shop resulted in the accidental shooting of a 22-year-old man in the face.

Police say they arrested 28-year-old Taylor Eberle on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct with a weapon in the shooting of his coworker at Pro Source Vapes on Thursday night.

The incident started when Eberle, the victim and other employees were waiving and pointing guns at each other. Eberle pointed his rifle at the victim and the weapon discharged, shooting him in the side of the face. The victim, who has not been identified, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say it does not appear that impairment was a factor and that no further arrests are anticipated.
