President Trump will attend the college football game between the University of Tennessee and top-ranked University of Texas in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday, the White House confirmed to The Washington Times.
The Texas Longhorns are No. 1 in the country and the Tennessee Volunteers are ranked 14th in the AP Top 25. It has already become a much-hyped showdown, as Tennessee will host ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday.
The matchup will be the fourth time Tennessee has played Texas and the first time the two teams, who have among the greatest legacies in college football, have faced off in 55 years.
The game is Mr. Trump’s first trip to a college football game since he attended the College Football Playoff National Championship last winter, when Indiana University defeated the University of Miami.
Since returning to the White House, Mr. Trump has attended numerous sporting events, including the NBA Finals in June, the FIFA World Cup Finals in July, the Daytona 500 in 2025 and the Super Bowl in 2025. He is the first sitting president to attend each event.
Most recently, Mr. Trump attended the Irish Open earlier this month at the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland.
Mr. Trump’s planned attendance at the game follows the Protect College Sports Act recently clearing a hurdle on its way to potentially becoming law. The Senate last week voted 74-24 to halt debate on the bill, while it considers several amendments.
