Man accused of beating his 80-year-old mother to death

ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) - A Rosedale man has been accused of beating his 80-year-old mother to death.

Baltimore County police said Thursday that 51-year-old Timothy Washington is charged with murder in the death of Bernice V. Washington.

The woman was found dead Aug. 23 inside her Rosedale home. An autopsy indicated the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was homicide.

Police say her son was arrested earlier this month.

Timothy Washington remains held without bail. Online court records do not list an attorney for him.
