OPINION:
At long last, a trial judge in Utah heard final arguments from the prosecution and defense in the case of Tyler James Robinson, the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk nearly a year ago (“Kirk assassination suspect must stand trial for murder, face death penalty, Utah judge rules,” Web, Sept. 1).
The prosecution is asking for the death penalty, as it claims that Mr. Robinson knowingly endangered others. The defense claims that this is not the case.
Kirk’s alleged shooter strikes me little more than poor white trash. He looks as though he could easily have been an extra — one of the inbred, backwoods Georgia hillbillies — in the 1972 movie “Deliverance.”
This is not a judgement by any measure, nor is it an attempt to mock or disparage the accused. It is simply what I saw when I see him on the news. He just gives off that vibe.
It is startling how many great people have been taken out by nobodies.
