Josh HartnettA passion for fashion
Among the supermodel wannabes working the catwalk at the Italian Embassy during Saturday night’s Fashion for Paws — an annual fundraiser for the Washington Humane Society — was Fox News Channel reporter Courtney Friel, who flew down from New York for the event with her husband (CBS News reporter Carter Evans) and dog, Stoli. (Her pooch was in the show, and her hubby proudly watched from the front row.)
Miss Friel told The Washington Times that she was roped into the event by Katherine Kennedy, soon-to-be star of the upcoming television reality series “Blonde Charity Mafia.”
Slated for release later this year, the show — about the philanthropic pursuits and fundraising efforts of local flaxen-tressed socialites — also features pretty young things Krista Johnson and Sophie Pyle.
So, does Miss Friel have a shot at joining the “Mafia”? She is, after all, blond and apparently charitable.
“Unfortunately she is not part of the show but a wonderful, wonderful girl,” Miss Kennedy explained.
Maybe Miss Friel can pave the way for honorary membership.
New baby for Allen, Mrs.
“Home Improvement” star Tim Allen, 55, is a father for the second time, Associated Press reports.
Publicist Marleah Leslie says Mr. Allen’s wife, Jane, gave birth to a 5-pound, 13-ounce girl, Elizabeth, on Saturday in Los Angeles. Miss Leslie says the couple is thrilled with the new arrival, and both mother and child are healthy.
Elizabeth is Mr. Allen’s second child. He has a 19-year-old daughter, Katherine, from his first marriage. This is his wife’s first child.
Kids plan Virginia stop
If you missed them the first time around, now’s your chance to catch the New Kids on the Block live onstage. The group is launching the Full Service Tour, which kicks off May 28 in Atlanta, People.com reports.
Locally, the tour will stop at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va., on June 7.
Tickets and VIP packages — which include a backstage barbecue with the guys — will be available starting Friday.
