SANDY, Utah (AP) - A Sandy man is behind bars after police say he attacked his girlfriend and tried to force her into a kitchen oven.

Salt Lake County jail records show 31-year-old Joseph Anthony Castellanos was being held Tuesday on a nearly $80,000 bond on suspicion of aggravated assault, kidnapping and other charges.

Police Lt. Victor Quezada says Castellanos was arrested 2 a.m. Friday after his live-in girlfriend reported she had been beaten, kicked and stabbed.

Police say Castellanos also urinated on the woman, struck her with a belt, pour hot sauce and dressing on her before trying to put her in an oven in the kitchen.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1LFQXxs ) it wasn’t clear if the oven was on at the time.

He has no listed attorney or phone number for someone to comment on his behalf.
