LOGAN, Utah (AP) - A former Utah State University fraternity brother has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting two women.
The 28-year-old Jason Relopez pleaded guilty to the sexual assaults in March. His attorney, Sharon Demler, says he was sentenced Tuesday to a year in jail followed by a sex offender treatment program. She says the sentence could change if Relopez chooses to complete a psychosexual evaluation during his year in jail.
If the test found him to be low risk to reoffend, he could be released from jail. But he could be sent to prison if he came out as high risk or undetermined.
Demler says that as of Tuesday, Relopez planned to serve the year in jail.
