Employee Jesse Boone bales hay on the Mayfield Ranch in Erath County. Dwain Mayfield, who owns the operation between Stephenville and Dublin, didn't reduce his herd drastically in the drought and plans to increase his herd modestly in what is a very good year for forage and hay, Thursday, June 11, 2015. One of the wettest springs on record is keeping Mayfield and his ranch hands busy. In a back pasture on his Erath County ranch, the tall, green Tifton 85 Bermuda grass is being bailed into hay.
