Edwards, 29, surrendered for arrest at the Clark County jail in Nev., a day after he was identified as the suspect in a fatal weekend shooting in northwest Las Vegas. Records showed that Edwards was arrested Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, and was being held Tuesday without bail pending an initial court appearance. Police had identified Edwards as the suspect in the early Saturday slaying of 25-year-old Cordan Jamal Swift at an apartment in Las Vegas. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
