Art stacks up May 20, 2015, inside the University of Iowa Thesis Rental Gallery on the UI Research Park in Coralville, Iowa. The collection began in 1939, when graduating artists from the UI?s MFA program were required to leave their theses with the school. The requirement ended more than a decade ago but the gallery still receives donations. The art is available for rent to university employees and departments. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
