The completed 16th floor of the Ally Detroit Center in downtown Detroit took design inspiration from Detroit's Lafayette Park neighborhood. Each floor of Ally will be designed with a different Detroit neighborhood in mind. The 43-story One Detroit Center at 500 Woodward Ave. was renamed the Ally Detroit CenterThursday, April 14, 2016. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
