Carns, the Nye County Republican Central Committee chairman, was cited on Monday, June 1, 2015 for driving an unregistered vehicle and fictitious registration, authorities said. Carns then provided an officer identification number to get out of the initial tickets. Authorities also said this was the third time Carns had made such claims to avoid a citation.
