An image showing the Leonardo da Vinci’s earliest known drawing that will go on display in the artist’s Tuscan hometown of Vinci to mark the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death. The Uffizi Gallery in Florence on Thursday, Aug. 4, 201 said it will loan the rarely displayed drawing, titled ‘’Landscape Drawing for Santa Maria Della Nave,’’ to the Leonardiano Museum for five weeks beginning Aug. 5 2019. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
