Waterloo police are having a hard time cracking down on the use of fake $100 bills meant to be props for movies and music videos at local stores. Over the past few months, there have been about a dozen cases in which the fake bills have been used in transactions in Waterloo, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
