KEY NUMBER

13 Assists for Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas, a season high. He scored only eight points after scoring a career-high 44 in a loss Saturday night.

SEEN AND HEARD

BAD BREAK?: Brendan Haywood, who started 64 games at center before suffering a broken left thumb against the Clippers on March 25, will receive results today from X-rays. Haywood worked out yesterday and said his status is uncertain: ?I don’t know when I’m coming back,? said Haywood, who is averaging 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds. ?I know I’ll have a better idea, and we’ll take it from there.?

DAMONE TO STAY: Damone Brown, who was at the end of his second 10-day contract with the Wizards, signed for the remainder of the season. In 12 games, Brown has averaged 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

TIME CHANGE: The Wizards’ games tomorrow (Chicago) and Friday (Cleveland) have been changed from 7 to 8p.m. The nationally televised games — both with heavy playoff implications — will be carried on ESPN. Wednesday’s game will be carried locally on Comcast SportsNet; Friday’s game will be on NewsChannel8.
