Apple Computer has released a rather detailed report on the questions raised in the media about working conditions in factories where its popular iPod music players are assembled. There’s much to ponder here — and, no, frankly, I wouldn’t want to work in such a factory as any sort of assembler — but it does appear that the firm is committed to fair play for the employees of its subcontractors. This is a serious subject, and one worth pondering.
