According to the Neowin blog, here’s a guess at pricing for Microsoft’s Windows Vista — at least in Canada, with U.S. dollar conversions:
Microsoft.com Canada has released pricing for Windows Vista. Windows Vista Ultimate is listed at $499 Canadian which translates into $450.36 in USD. Home Premium is listed at $299 or $269.86 USD, Vista Ultimate Upgrade is priced at $299 or $269.86 USD, while Home Premium Upgrade is $199 or $179.60 USD.
Late Monday, Microsoft Canada apparently removed those prices from their Web site. How this translates into U.S. prices, if at all, is unclear. The “Ultimate” package is supposed to include 3-D rendering engines and other features more appropriate for small business. The Home Premium should be a boost to what we find in Media Center Edition 2005. We’ll have to see.
Two comments though, and they’re words from other people. One, a poster at the Neowin site, asks if Ultimate “comes with a computer.” The other I recall from the late Garner Ted Armstrong, who, speaking of a $10 hard boiled egg offered at the New York Hilton hotel, suggested “At that price, it ought to walk up and introduce itself!”
