Less than 24 hours after I slammed District-based XM Satellite Radio for not supporting Mac-based Web browsers, the firm revealed it will have that support “by the end of the year,” according to Chance Patterson, vice president of corporate communications for the firm, which is leading the industry in subscribers.

The issues blocking Mac users from accessing the account management portion of the XM Web site will be resolved soon, Mr. Patterson said, and then all of us who use Macs can handle account needs more easily.

Three cheers for corporate responsiveness! Now, if only XM could get my favorite classical station, WQXR-FM, on their network, all would be wonderful. Ironically, WQXR is having its own Mac-streaming problems, in concert with Dulles-based AOL, but that’s a different story entirely.
