Dancing once considered scandalous comes to the Corcoran Gallery of Art (500 17th St. NW) tonight at 7. Dancers Cynthia Word and Ingrid Zimmer will perform works by dance greats Isadora Duncan and Ruth St. Denis as part of the exhibition series, “Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939.” A discussion about the two women’s contributions to modern dance and why their work was considered so radical will follow. Tickets are $20 for gallery members and $25 for the public. Call 202/639-1700 or visit www.corcoran.org.
