Yesterday at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.:

SEEN AND HEARD

In a bit of proof Buffalo is close to north of the border, both the Canadian and American anthems were played before the game. The Canadian version was classic hockey arena organ music also presumably used before Sabres games, while the Maryland pep band took care of the American anthem.

QUOTABLE

“I bet they had the ugliest picture of me up there, too. I bet they have the worst picture of all time up there.”

— Well-coiffed forward Bambale Osby (11 points, six rebounds) upon being told he was selected as CBS’ player of the game from Maryland.

BY THE NUMBERS

30 Points for Davidson guard Stephen Curry, the most by an individual against Maryland all season. Curry had 23 points by the 18:56 mark of the second half, but D.J. Strawberry hassled him enough the rest of the way to tire the freshman out.
