Last night at Verizon Center:

6 Points for Caps center Brian Sutherby in the last seven games, good for second on the team behind Alex Ovechkin. Sutherby’s four goals during that stretch ties Ovechkin for the team lead. He had three goals in 57 games before the stretch.

North Dakota defenseman Joe Finley was named the WCHA defensive player of the week for his part in the sixth-ranked Fighting Sioux going 1-0-1 against third-ranked St. Cloud State. Finley, a Caps’ first-round pick in the 2005 draft (27th overall), had three assists and was plus-three in a 7-2 win last Saturday against the Huskies. Finley has a goal and six assists this season.
