FLEMINGTON, N.J. (AP) - Officials say a Flemington police officer who apparently shot himself by accident plans to return to work next week.
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office says Detective Sgt. William Svard sustained a minor leg injury when his duty weapon apparently discharged accidentally last Thursday. Svard was sitting in a police vehicle in a parking lot in Raritan Township at the time.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
