PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - A Wrentham man has been charged with murder in connection with a stabbing at a Kingston hotel earlier this month.

Charles DeJesus was held without bail after pleading not guilty Thursday in Plymouth District Court to murder and other charges in connection with an April 10 fight at the Inn at Plymouth Bay.

Authorities say the victim, 31-year-old Raymond Sanfilippo, died Tuesday night from a stab wound to the head that penetrated his brain and caused a stroke.

Prosecutors say the suspect and victim were co-workers who had a dispute over a woman following a party at the hotel involving drug and alcohol use.

The Enterprise reports that DeJesus’ lawyer said there is a strong indication that his client may have acted in self-defense.
