COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a Colorado Springs police officer shot and killed a pit bull during a domestic disturbance investigation.

The Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1nvMEca ) the dog was shot when it lunged at an officer during a call Friday. Another pit bull that approached police was captured.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and a 29-year-old man was cited for having a vicious animal.
