WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) - West Fargo Police say a man tried to attack his neighbor with a hatchet Friday before throwing the weapon through the front window of a house.

A release from the West Fargo Police Departments says the female victim was walking to her car when she was attacked by the man, who was arrested but hasn’t yet appeared in court.

The victim was able to escape and run into a nearby house, but her attacker then allegedly threw the hatchet through the front window of the house.

Police charged the man with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. The woman was brought to Essentia Hospital in Fargo. Her condition’s unknown.
