CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say two people were killed and three others critically injured when a car in which they were riding slammed into a concrete viaduct support.

Police spokesman Hector Alfaro tells the Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/1hBDibe) that the car’s driver, a 27-year-old woman, died at a hospital shortly after the wreck about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. A 33-year-old male passenger also was killed.

Alfaro says the other passengers, including two 34-year-old women and a 31-year-old man, were critically injured and taken to a hospital. Their medical statuses were not immediately available later Sunday.
