INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A family member says the widow of a 24-year-old Indianapolis man who was fatally shot on his morning walk has given birth to a daughter.

Jennifer Trapuzzano’s sister Julie Swihart tells The Indianapolis Star ( https://indy.st/1mRT7hz ) that Jennifer Trapuzzano gave birth to a healthy 7-pound baby girl early Friday morning. She named the infant Cecelia Marie.

Swihart says that both mother and child are doing well.

Authorities say a 16-year-old boy forced Nathan Trapuzzano into a strip club parking lot before shooting him once in the abdomen April 1.

Prosecutors filed adult charges of murder, felony murder, attempted robbery and carrying a handgun without a license against the teenage suspect.

His probation officer later resigned amid criticism that he failed to report violations by the boy.
