NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - March sales tax collections in the city of Natchez were approximately $394,000, up a little more than $19,000 from last year’s figures.
The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1j3AhzT ) March’s figures represent collections for January since sales tax collections are reported two months after the fact.
Collections so far this fiscal year, which began Oct. 1, are approximately $2.74 million.
Overall sales tax collections for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, were $5.4 million, a $200,000 jump over the $5.2 million collected in the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
