DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office says former Congressman Tom Tancredo’s campaign has gathered enough signatures to make the ballot in the race against Gov. John Hickenlooper.

The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1emipBJ ) the campaign had to collect at least 1,500 signatures from registered Republicans in each of the state’s seven congressional districts before March 31. Tancredo turned in 16,634 signatures, and of those, 13,158 were valid.

Former Congressman Bob Beauprez also is petitioning to get on the GOP primary ballot, but the secretary of state’s office is still checking his signatures.

The other five Republicans in the race are going through the state Republican Party assembly on Saturday. They are Secretary of State Scott Gessler, state Sen. Greg Brophy, Adams County businessman Steve House, former Senate Minority Leader Mike Kopp and rancher Roni Bell Sylvester.
