I am always amused by the way criminal illegal aliens can rationalize, fictionalize and harmonize their “right” to a free ride at someone else’s expense (“Ineligible illegals file request to get Dreamer status, force Obama’s hand,” Web, Aug. 20). It’s almost laughable that these students who refer to themselves as “Dreamers” use the excuse that they were brought by their parents, and for that reason should be free to break the law.

They never mention the fact that they have known for years of their status, yet never stepped forward until they were identified. I really like the example in the article of the illegal who left the United States to attend college in his home country, all the while knowing his status. Then he wanted to dance back across the border and grab at someone else’s brass ring.

In the case of Jose Antonio Vargas, the former reporter for The Washington Post, it just goes to prove that journalists are sometimes criminals, too. It would not surprise me if The Post had hired Mr. Vargas knowing he was illegal. I am surprised that he is a flash point for any debate, as his willful disdain for the laws of the country he wishes to join and his daily flaunting of these laws make him a prime candidate for deportation. I will drive the bus.

The conduct of the current resident of the White House has been consistently immoral, illegal, mentally implausible and erratic in a Harry Reid sort of way. Mr. Obama’s irrational ranting that the United States immigration system is “broken” is an outright lie. Mr. Obama has failed to make this case anyway, since he cannot specify what needs to be fixed or why.

“Dreamers” are nothing more than con artists. Illegal means illegal. You can dream all you want, but criminals never change.
