NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Davon Usher scored a career-high 42 points - including 30 in the second half - to lead Delaware to a 67-64 comeback victory over Charleston on Wednesday night.

With the Fightin’ Blue Hens down 40-27 early in the second period, Usher almost single-handedly brought his team back by scoring 27 points in the final eight minutes to help put Delaware up by three as time expired.

Devon Saddler added 17 points and four rebounds for the Fightin’ Blue Hens (18-7, 10-0 Colonial Athletic Conference).

Charleston went 16-8 to start the first period and led 28-22 at the break. Anthony Stitt sank two from the field and one from 3-point range within three minutes to cap a 12-5 run to put the Cougars up 40-27 early in the second.

Anthony Stitt and Adjehi Baru scored 11 points each for the Cougars (12-12, 4-5). Charleston committed 26 turnovers during the game.
