FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Farmington police say an 86-year-old motorist crashed a truck into a restaurant, causing minor injuries and leaving the building structurally unsafe.

Police say the pick-up truck crashed through the front of the restaurant on Saturday. Several customers were treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused to be taken to area hospitals.

The unidentified driver of the pick-up truck, an 86-year old Farmington resident, was taken to John Dempsey Hospital for minor injuries and evaluation. The motorist’s driver’s license was seized and handed over to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Farmington building inspector says the building is unsafe structurally and the restaurant was closed.
