NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven Police Chief Dean Esserman says a woman whose body was found under a porch died of hypothermia and wasn’t the victim of a homicide.
Esserman told the New Haven Register (https://bit.ly/1lUnNfK ) that the medical examiner’s officer found no evidence of a crime. The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
Charles Bridges found the woman’s body Saturday under the back porch of a multifamily home on Sheffield Avenue where he lives. He said part of the woman’s face was buried in the mud, and she was wearing sweatpants, sneakers and a bra.
Bridges and another resident of the home said they didn’t know the woman.
Police are trying to determine what happened to the woman.
