HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Federal court records say a woman has been sentenced to five years in a racketeering drug case involving about 21 kilograms of methamphetamine found after a traffic stop in Lamar County.

Obidio Santos-Alas and Reina Chamorro were charged in the case after authorities said the drugs were found in a hidden compartment under the bed of the truck on July 30.

Reina Chamorro was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg.

Santos-Alas is scheduled for sentencing Feb. 27.

Authorities said the suspects told investigators that they were hired to drive the truck from Texas to Georgia and would be paid $2,000.

Investigators said they knew that there some kind of drugs in the truck, but didn’t know what kind, how much or where it was located.
