ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 28-year-old Anchorage man has been charged with felony assault counts after a stabbing Monday night in Spenard.

Anchorage police say Jonathan Knight was arrested.

Police say Knight hosted a party at his Spenard apartment but at some point asked guests to leave. Police say he got into a fight with his girlfriend and assaulted her and she fled with an 8-year-old boy.

She took refuge at the home of neighbors, who had been at the party. Two men from that home went to Knight’s apartment to confront him.

Police say Knight stabbed one man in the abdomen. The man suffered a wound that police say did not threaten his life.

Knight is charged with first- and second-degree assault.
