GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 31-year-old man found with nearly eight pounds of methamphetamine in a Harrison County traffic stop has been sentenced to 10 years in a federal prison.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1mrFmBc ) Rodolfo Garcia Quintanilla faced 10 years to life at his sentencing in a drug-trafficking case Tuesday. Chief District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. also ordered five years of post-release supervision.

Quintanilla has been in custody since July 31, when Harrison County deputy sheriffs arrested him in a traffic stop on Interstate 10.

Quintanilla pleaded guilty in October to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
