ANALYSIS/OPINION:

A nut with a gun or a knife could cause a problem with a population of 300 million people — and immediately numerous people would rush to call for outlawing and melting down the steel from all guns and knives.

Yet, every single day how many are entrusted with the steel and plastic that make up the cars, buses and trucks we see on all our roads. It is accepted as routine that innocents are killed daily by idiots in vehicles — and such deaths are simply treated as ho-hum traffic reports.
