MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - The Moss Point Board of Aldermen has voted to move forward on two major projects.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1cEeolG ) the board approved a request Tuesday to advertise for bids for both the repair of the natural gas lines in the Moss Point Gas Distribution System and the reconstruction of the medians in downtown Moss Point on Main Street.

Alderman-at-Large Houston Cunningham said this is a major move in the repair of the gas lines and that the advertisement for bids will allow the city to move forward.

The city will borrow about $1.5 million to replace all gas lines within the system.
