LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Maghan Cooley led Fairview to its eighth-consecutive Class B championship, scoring 25 points in a 76-53 win over Lacassine.

Fairview (40-1) scored the final seven points of the first quarter to take a 20-9 lead, then outscored Lacassine 20-8 in the second quarter to extend the lead to 23 points.

Cooley scored 13 points in the first half while teammates Katie Lemieux and Callie Maddox each scored nine.

Haley Cooley finished with 17 to lead Lacassine, whose only lead came on the first basket of the game.

Lemieux finished with 18 points, Maddox with 14. Abbie Melanson scored 12 for Lacassine.

Cardinals leading scorer Madyson Brasseaux picked up three fouls in the first quarter and sat out the second quarter. She finished with nine points.

Fairview has won 40 consecutive playoff games and has beaten Lacassine in the last three Class B championship games.
