CLARKSTON, Ga. (AP) - Police outside Atlanta are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child found trapped inside a hot car.

Clarkston Police Chief Christine Hudson says the girl and her sibling were playing outside Monday afternoon when their mother took one toddler inside to change a diaper and asked a family member to watch the other child.

Hudson tells WSB-TV (https://bit.ly/1oKOcg0) that about an hour after realizing that the toddler was missing, the adults found the girl inside the car.

Investigators say they believe the car door had been left open and the toddler was able to climb in and shut the door, trapping herself inside.
