MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa man has been given jail time after his minor son tested positive to marijuana exposure.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1nKW1CE ) 25-year-old Nathaniel James Gabrielson, of St. Ansgar, was recently sentenced to a year in jail, with all but 50 days suspended. He was also given two years of probation.
Gabrielson pleaded guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor of child endangerment without injury. Another child endangerment charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Court documents say Gabrielson’s minor son was unsupervised sometime between Oct. 3 and Dec. 17 and ingested marijuana. It later showed up in his system. It’s unclear how old Gabrielson’s son was at the time.
